1986 Bing & Grondahl Mother's Day plate with the title Elephant with Young Elephant was designed by Henry Thelander. The motif of the 1986 Bing & Grondahl Mothers Day plate shows an elephant with her young elephant. If the young elephant is a girl it will be possible for her to stay in the herd. The herd consist of an old female elephant, her daughters and their daughters. The male elephants has to leave the herd and walk together with other male elephants or alone. The Bing & Grondahl Mothers Day plates were started in 1969 and are still being continued with a new Mother's Day plate every year.
