1961 Royal Copenhagen Christmas plate, designed by Kaj Lange, depicts The training ship Danmark Royal Copenhagen's Christmas plate from 1961 depicts the Danish training vessel Denmark. In this plate Denmark is shown sailing past Kronborg (depicted on the 1935 plate). Denmark is a three-masted sailing vessel built in 1932. During World War II, the ship was placed at the disposal of the navy of the United States, during which time it was used for the training of thousands of American sailors. Today it is still used for training purposes.
