1966 Royal Copenhagen Christmas plate, designed by Kaj Lange, has the title Blackbird at church Royal Copenhagen's Christmas plate from 1966 depicts Gladsaxe church, just out- side Copenhagen. This church is dated back to the 1100s. in the foreground of the plate we see a blackbird, one of the most common wild birds in Denmark, sitting on a branch of a tree. The blackbird is one of few birds, that do not migrate in the winter, and it si also one of the first heralds of spring, with its characteistic song.
