Packing instructions:
When fragile articles have to be securely packed, please follow
the instructions described below:
Packing figurines and similar objects
- If a shipment includes several articles, to be sent together -
the risk of the articles damaging each other during transport is
evident. This is best avoided, by packing each item separately in
its own box. Each box must be so big, that it has room for flexible
filling in the gap between the object and the side of the box. The
filling could for example be crumpled newspaper pages (tear each
page out of the newspaper and crumple it up separately - this makes
good filling !). Preferably the gap between the fragile object and
the side of the box is about 5 centimeters (approx.2" ).
- When each article has been packed as described in point 1., the
items can be packed in a larger box, and put next to each other
with no risk of damage. this box has to be big enough to allow
flexible filling all the way around the sides of the box. The small
boxes must be placed together in the middle of the large box with a
gap of at least 10 centimeters (approx. 4 ") all the way around the
small boxes. You have to press the filling together, to make sure
that the items can not move during transport.
Packing plates
- Wrap each plate in for example 5 pages of newspaper, and stack
them on top of each other. You can easily stack as much as 25
plates in one stack. When each plate has been packed and stacked,
the whole stack has to be wrapped carefully, also using newspaper
pages and thorough use of sticky tape to make sure that each plate
in the stack can not move during transport.
- When the plates and stacks have been wrapped as described in
point 1,the stacks can be packed in larger boxes with no risk of
the plates damaging each other. Within the large box you need to
put flexible filling on all sides as well as at the bottom and the
top of the stack to protect the plates at the centre of the box.
The filling could be crumpled newspaper pages (each page crumpled
up separately - giving a nice flexible filling). There has to be at
least 10 centimeters (approx. 4 ") all around the bundle in the
middle of the large box. Press the filling together, to make sure
that the stack can not move within the box during transportation.
If the shipment contains more than 25 plates of christmas plate
size(diameter 18 centimeters - approx. 7 " ) we recommend that the
above mentioned procedure is followed again.
Mark your plates or figurines
When you send plates, figurines or other goods to us it will be
a good idea that you mark the back of the plates or the bottom of
the figurine with your initials or an other recognizable mark. - If
you mark the goods, please notice that it has to be with something
which we can remove. Do not write on unglazed surfaces, use a
sticker instead.
For instance you can use a black pen or a sticker If the goods
should be sent back to you, you will be sure that they really are
your goods. We rarely send goods back to the consignor but when we
receive the goods we check them carefully . If we find that the
goods have been damaged in the transport or we find the quality
different than agreed, we can send the goods back to you, if you
wish.
