Bing & Grondahl's Christmas plate from
1901 shows the three wise men. This story
is taken from Matthew, where wise men
search for the new born Jesus child. When
they find him, they give him Gold, Myrrh
and frankincense, and because of the number
of presents, they are thought to be three.
