This plate depcts a lab interior from
Rudkøbing pharmacy.
The pharmacy was opened in 1705.
In 1776 the pharmacy was bought on a sale by
order of the court, and it was bought by
Søren Ørsted. His renowned son,
Hans Christian Ørsted, born 1777, was
taught about pharmacy by his father in
this pharmacy.
The now existing main building was erected
in 1856.
In connection with Hans Christian Ørsted's
200 years anniversary in 1977, a small
phamacy museum was established. The museum
includes 2 dispensary inventories from
app. 1800 and from app.1900.
This museum, The Old Pharmacy, was taken
over by Langeland's Museum in 1983.
