The motif of this 1982 Desirée annual cup
WITHOUT saucer from The Porcelain Factory
Desiree, also known as Désirée Denmark,
Svend Jensen of Denmark, Old Copenhagen
Blue comes from the Hans Christian Andersen
fairytale Twelve by the Mail.
The 1982 Hans Christian Andersen Annual Cup
had the same motif as the 1982 Svend Jensen
Christmas plate. So the 1982 Desiree Annual
Cup and the 1982 Desiree Christmas plate
are actaully a beautiful coffee set with
plate and cup.
The motif of the 1982 Desiree Annual cup and
Christmas plate shows the Mail-coach right
before it will pass the gates in to the
town. At the gate The Mail-coach Passengers
present each other as the twelve months and
the listener gets a small impression of the
weather in the month concerned. But the
story cannot be ended until the end of the
year. Then the citizens on the town will be
able to tell what each month bought them.
Svend Otto S. was the artist who has created
this Sven Jensen Annual cup and Christmas
plate.
Désirée started the Annual cup series in
1982 and ended it in 2001. So 20 different
sets were made to complete a perfect coffee
set.

by Hans Christian Andersen´s Fairy Tales.
