In 1992 Royal Copenhagen launched the
faience service Ursula, designed by cera-
mist Ursula Munch-Petersen.
The fertile functionalism, beautiful
colours,and unique design characterize
Ursula.
It is characteristic that each piece in the
Ursula Service, besides having their own
function, can be used in other ways as well.
For instance, the small oval plates, can be
used as side plates, saucers and lids to
the oval bowls. The dish functions as a
serving dish for tapas olives, etc and as
a lid for the jug. The jug in itself is
already a classic because of its unique
design that is almost sculptural.The oval
dinner plates too are designed with a
desire for function, their shapes give more
room on the table,takes up less room in the
cupboard and inspires one to serve food in
a new way.
