Aladin and the magical lamp is the first aladin plate in a series of 12 plates, produced by Rosenthal, designed by Bjorn Wiinblad. In his 12 Aladin plates, Bjørn Wiinblad virtuously depicts the tale of Aladin from the well known fairy tale The Thousand and One Nights. In this fairy tale Aladin achieves the greatest treasures and overcomes the gravest dangers, and Bjorn Wiinblad has, in his usual optimistic style, chosen the most important scenes from Aladin's life. The brilliant and intense colours with gold ornamentations stresses the splendor of this oriental fairy tale. This is the first of the twelve Aladin plates, titled Aladin and the magical lamp. The technique used for the plates is overglazed. Aladin from The Thousand and One Nights. The plate is the Title motif of the Aladin series and depicts Aladdin talking to the Spirit of the lamp, who fulfills all of Aladin's wishes.
