1981 Royal Copenhagen Christmas plate, designed by Kaj Lange, has the title Admiring the Christmas Tree. Royal Copenhagen's Christmas plate from 1981 continues the story of a tradition which is, in many parts of the world, inseparably connected with this very special festival. On this year's plate the tree has been decorated and the mother, holding her youngest child, is admiring the finished effect, an intimate and homely scene, re- peated in thousands of homes and forming part of one's earliest childhood memories. Since 1979 Royal Copenhagen has issued a cup and saucer carrying the same motif as the Christmas plate. The latter can accor- dingly serve the double function of a side plate during the Christmas festivities and a wall ornament throughout the rest of the year.
