Egemose Mother's Day plates with colorful floral motifs
Egemose Mother's Day plates are Danish porcelain plates featuring a new flower in the center each year. The motif is surrounded by the characteristic tulip border, whose colors change to match the flower on each plate.
Two series of Egemose Mother's Day plates
The first Egemose Mother's Day plate was released in 1971. The original series consisted of 12 plates and ended in 1982, just like the series of Egemose Father's Day plates.
In 1989 the series was revived by Egemose Decoration with 12 new floral motifs designed by Anett Laursen. The new plates continued the design from the first series, so plates from both periods naturally match.
Egemose flower plates with a new flower each year
Each Egemose Mother's Day plate has its own floral motif. The series includes roses, tulips, lilies, lily of the valley, violets, sunflowers, forget-me-nots, and chrysanthemums. Due to the many different flower motifs, the series is also called Egemose flower plates.
The continuous tulip border ties the series together, while the different flowers and colors give each year its own expression. You can therefore collect the plates by year, choose your favorite flower, or combine several different motifs.
Use the plates at the table or on the wall
Egemose Mother's Day plates measure about 17 cm in diameter and can be used as small plates for smaller servings, cake, or dessert. The decoration lies under the glaze, and the plates are dishwasher safe dishwasher safe.
On the back, the plates have holes for hanging. With plate accessories, they can be hung individually or combined into a flower wall where the different years and colors create a personal wall decoration.
A Mother's Day gift that can become a tradition
An Egemose Mother's Day plate can be given as a lasting alternative to the traditional bouquet. Choose a special year or a flower with personal meaning, or let the first plate be the beginning of a collection that can be expanded on future Mother's Days.
