Porsgrund Mother's Day Plates from 1970 to 1987
Porsgrund Mother's Day Plates are a series of Norwegian porcelain, released every year from 1970 to 1987. The small plates first feature motifs of children with animal babies and later mothers with their children. They can be collected, used as small plates, or hung up as decoration.

From children with animal babies to mothers with children
On the early Porsgrund Mother's Day Plates, a child is seen with one or more animal babies. From 1983, the motifs changed to show mothers with their children.
Each edition has its own motif. Some collect the entire series from 1970 to 1987, while others choose specific years or motifs.
Small plates for serving and decoration
Porsgrund Mother's Day Plates measure approximately 13 cm in diameter and can be used as small porcelain plates. The size is suitable for confectionery, chocolates, and cookies at the coffee or dessert table. The plates can also be used as the top plate in a cake stand.
The plates are dishwasher safe and can be used for food. On the back, they also have hanging holes, so they can easily be hung up with plate hooks.
The plates can therefore be used at the table, displayed on a plate holder, or combined with several editions to create a personal wall decoration.
Combine Mother's Day plates and Father's Day plates from Porsgrund
Porsgrund has also produced a similar series of Father's Day plates. Some choose to collect each series separately, while others combine Mother's Day and Father's Day plates by year, motif, or family members.
