Snowman Figurines from Royal Copenhagen
Over the years, Royal Copenhagen has created several different snowman figurines in porcelain, many of which belong to small families. Here you will find children, parents, and grandparents, each with their own small characteristics. Some are skiing, others are on their way home with the Christmas tree, and several of the figurines together tell little stories from the families' lives.
Max, Sophie and Arthur – a snowman family with its own story
From 2005 to 2010, Royal Copenhagen released a series of snowman figurines designed by Henny Iversen. The series follows the small family with father Max, mother Sophie, and their son Arthur, who each year experience something new together.
In 2007, the family gathers around a storybook, while in 2008 they have gone to the forest to feed the birds. The following year, the Christmas preparations are underway, and in the series' last year, 2010, the Christmas tree is to be cut down and the presents prepared.
It is precisely these small stories that make the series fun to collect. The figurines can stand alone, but when several editions are placed together, you get a small insight into the family's life over the years.
More snowman families from Royal Copenhagen
Royal Copenhagen has also released other snowman families, where each figure has its own expression and small details that make it recognizable.
Sven Vestergaard has among other things designed a family with grandfather, grandmother, parents, and children. Here we find a boy skiing, a girl with a Christmas tree, and a grandfather with a pipe.
Allan Therkelsen is behind other snowman figurines, where among others a father with a broom and hare, a mother with a cat, and two children with teddy bears belong.
This allows you to create your very own snowman family across the different series.
Snowman figurines as part of the Christmas decorations
The snowman figurines are perfect to bring out along with Christmas decorations. You can place a single snowman on the windowsill or gather several figurines on a shelf, where children, parents, and grandparents have space next to each other.
