Blue Line is a popular porcelain coffee- and dinnerware produced by Royal Copenhagen, which was introduced in 1965. The service is characterized by the fine blue line on otherwise white porcelain. - The set is truly a timeless design, which is why Blue Line can still be found in modern homes today.
The simple, elegant, and classic design is inspired by the signature blue color that Royal Copenhagen is known for. Each piece of the set is hand-made, and the cobalt blue edge is hand-painted to ensure that the color is even and consistent. A service designed by Grethe Meyer
Grethe Meyer (1918-2008) was a Danish architect and designer, known for her simple, functional designs, including the Blue Line service, which she created in 1962.
Grethe Meyer's work as a designer was recognized with several awards and honors, including the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts' Great Prize in 1976 and the C.F. Hansen Medal in 1998. Her contribution to Danish design history was significant, and she was also appointed an honorary member of Design Denmark.
