Royal Copenhagen white gorilla monkey figurine no. 070 Pia Langelund

This white gorilla from Royal Copenhagen is a striking monkey figurine with a calm, concentrated expression and a strong, unified form. The sculpture is modeled with a simplicity that lets the body's weight, posture and movement speak for themselves. This gives the figure a modern and sculptural character, making it ideal both as a design object and as part of a collection of Royal Copenhagen figurines.

The monkey figurine was created in collaboration with the artist Pia Langelund, who in the monkey series has worked to capture the personality of each individual species in a stylish and confident formal language. Here, the gorilla is interpreted with strength and thoughtfulness, and the white surface highlights the soft transitions and the precise modeling. This gives the figure a clean and harmonious expression, which fits beautifully into both classic and modern interiors.

The current text about the series states that the monkeys are made in bisque, that is, unglazed porcelain, which emphasizes the sculpture's matte, tactile expression. This particular type of porcelain gives a special depth to the form and makes the figure interesting to look at from several angles. As a Royal Copenhagen monkey figurine, it contains both artistic presence, Danish design tradition and collector's value.

A figure like this works beautifully alone on a shelf, in a bookcase or on a side table, where it is allowed to stand out as a small piece of sculptural art. It can also be combined with other figures from the monkey series to create a personal display with variation in expression and size. For you who appreciate porcelain figurines, animal figurines and design with character, this gorilla is a strong choice with both history and visual calm.
