Royal Copenhagen chimpanzee no. 066 monkey figurine by Pia Langelund

Royal Copenhagen chimpanzee no. 066 is a striking monkey figurine with a calm, thoughtful expression. The figurine is created by Pia Langelund and shows a seated chimpanzee in a concentrated, almost human posture, where the simple lines and the overall form are allowed to carry the entire story. The black figurine stands on a light glass base, and the contrast between the dark porcelain and the matte, light base gives the sculpture a strong and modern expression.

The monkey figurine belongs to Royal Copenhagen's series with monkeys, where each sculpture interprets its own species with personality and character. Here the chimpanzee is rendered with soft, rounded shapes and fine details in the face, hands and posture. The expression is stylised, but still lively, and that is precisely what makes the figurine interesting to look at from several angles. It fits well as a decorative design figurine in the living room, on the shelf, in the office or as part of a collection of Royal Copenhagen figurines and animal figurines.

The choice of materials helps elevate the experience. The figurine is made in bisque, that is unglazed and coloured porcelain, which highlights form and surface in a quiet and precise way. Together with the glass base, the chimpanzee gains an almost sculptural gallery expression. It is a figurine for you who appreciate Danish design, artistic porcelain figurines and objects that add character to the home without seeming heavy.

As a gift, this Royal Copenhagen monkey figurine is an obvious choice for collectors, design enthusiasts or for the person who appreciates porcelain with a modern design language. It works beautifully on its own, but can also be combined with other figurines from the monkey series for a more cohesive expression.
