Ipsen figure Venus no. 888 Terracotta no. 34 Kai Nielsen 21 cm

This Ipsen figure "Venus" is an atmospheric child figure with a soft, classic formal language and a lively movement in the body. The little girl stands naked in a lightly turned pose with her head bent down and her arms raised away from the body, giving the figure a natural and almost dancing expression. The light, terracotta-colored tone and the unglazed surface emphasize the figure's calm, sculptural character.

The motif has a fine balance between innocence, movement and artistic simplicity. Hair, hands, feet and posture are modeled with great sensitivity, and the figure functions both as a decorative art figure and as a beautiful collector's item for those interested in the Danish figurine tradition. On the base appears the inscription "Venus" as well as the signature "Kai Nielsen", which links the figure to the artistic origin that also makes the model interesting to collectors.

With its 21 cm, the figure has a size that makes it suitable on a shelf, in a display cabinet or as part of an arrangement with other art figures and classical figures. The matte, light surface makes it easy to combine with both Nordic interior design, antiques and more modern home style. For many, older figures like this one will also have a special value precisely because they bring history, personality and enduring craftsmanship into the home.

A vintage figure like this is at the same time a fine example of how older decorative art and design can be given new life today. It is a way to choose something with soul and character rather than new production - and a figure that can be enjoyed for many years to come.
