Bing & Grondahl Aviation plate no. 3 Metropolitan First flight of the Convair CV-440 was on January 8. 1956. Around 1000 Convair liners have been produced. The Convair liner series have been in service with most of the airlines of the Western world and have also served with many air forces. SAS have had a total of 20 Convair CV-440 Metropolitan in its fleet. The Metropolitan was used until 1976.
