Royal Copenhagen The Little Mermaid figurine no. 4431 or 150, 22 cm

The Little Mermaid from Royal Copenhagen is a porcelain figurine with strong Danish cultural history and a motif that immediately evokes associations with Copenhagen, H.C. Andersen's fairy tales and classic Danish design. The figurine shows the mermaid sitting on the stone in a calm, contemplative posture, where the soft design language and the subdued color nuances give the motif a quiet, almost poetic atmosphere.

Edvard Eriksen has created a figurine where the lines flow beautifully from upper body to tail, and where the bluish stone forms a fine contrast to the mermaid's light porcelain. It is precisely this balance between sculptural calm and storytelling that makes the model so sought-after among collectors of Royal Copenhagen figurines and among those who are fond of Danish porcelain art with an iconic motif.

The porcelain figurine is executed in underglaze, which emphasizes the classic quality and the familiar artisanal expression for which Royal Copenhagen is famous. It functions both as a collector's figurine, as a decorative porcelain figurine in the living room or on the shelf and as a gift idea for the one who appreciates Danish design, fairy tales and historical motifs. With its height of 22 cm, the figurine has a size that makes it striking without appearing heavy in the interior.

Older porcelain figurines like this one have a special ability to add soul and personality to the home. Choosing a classic figurine with history is also a beautiful way to preserve good craftsmanship and give lasting quality objects new life in a modern home. The Little Mermaid is therefore not merely a Royal Copenhagen figurine, but also a piece of Danish design, which continues to appeal to both collectors and those interested in design.
