Royal Copenhagen annual figurine 2001 Boy with cat - Sven Vestergaard

Royal Copenhagen annual figurine 2001, Boy with cat, is a porcelain figurine with a calm and recognizable everyday motif. The figurine shows a boy standing still with a gray cat in his arms, and it is precisely the encounter between child and animal that gives the motif a warm and human expression. The soft posture and the subdued play of colors make the figurine an atmospheric feature in the home and an annual figurine that many collectors will notice.

Sven Vestergaard has created a figurine in which the simple motif is allowed to carry the story. The boy's green top, blue trousers and dark shoes go well with the cat's gray tones, and the underglaze decoration gives the surface the characteristic depth that many associate with Royal Copenhagen. The expression is quiet and thoughtful, and the figurine has a natural charm that fits well both in a classic collection and in a more contemporary interior.

As part of Royal Copenhagen's annual figurines, this porcelain figurine is interesting for collectors who wish to expand or complete their series. At the same time, it also works beautifully on its own, because the motif speaks directly to everyone who loves child figurines, cat figurines and Danish porcelain design. It is a figurine that can easily be placed on a shelf, in a display cabinet or as a small story on a chest of drawers together with other figurines from the same collection.

Older figurines like this carry a special quality within them. They are created to be preserved, collected and displayed year after year, and they add both history and personality to the home. Choosing a figurine with history is also a way to give good craftsmanship new life and let classic design continue to create joy in everyday life.
