Royal Copenhagen Pulcinella figurine no. 064 - Commedia dell'Arte

Royal Copenhagen Pulcinella figurine no. 064 is a characterful porcelain figurine from the Commedia dell'Arte series. The figurine depicts the classic theatre character with a tall, white hat, dark mask and a simple, white costume, where the soft folds and the calm posture give the motif a thoughtful and almost melancholic expression. In its hands, the figurine holds a prop that underlines the connection to performing arts, character role and storytelling.

Pulcinella is among the best-known figures from the Italian Commedia dell'Arte, and it is precisely the theatrical and human qualities that are beautifully expressed here. The figurine stands with a slightly bowed head and a subdued posture, which gives the porcelain figurine personality and presence. It is a figurine that appeals both to collectors of Royal Copenhagen figurines and to those who are fond of theatre figurines, fairytale figurines and classic stories translated into porcelain.

The white glaze with dark details in the mask and shoes gives a clean and striking expression that fits beautifully into both modern and more classic homes. The underglaze technique helps to highlight the figurine's calm surface and the finely modelled details in the costume, hands and face. As part of the Commedia dell'Arte series, Pulcinella also has an obvious collector's value, especially if you wish to combine it with the series' other figurines.

Older porcelain figurines like this have a special ability to add history, culture and personality to the interior. That is precisely part of the joy of choosing quality design with history: you preserve a piece of fine craftsmanship and give it space in a home where it can still create atmosphere and fascination for many years to come. The figurine is ideal in a display cabinet, on a shelf or as a gift for a collector with an interest in Royal Copenhagen, theatre and classical figurative art.
