Royal Copenhagen gorilla figurine no. 084 Pia Langelund

Royal Copenhagen gorilla figurine no. 084 is a striking monkey figurine with a calm, concentrated expression. Pia Langelund has created a gorilla that does not appear dramatic or violent, but thoughtful and present. The figurine sits huddled on a square plinth with its head resting against its hand, and it is precisely this pose that gives the sculpture a special weight and character.

The soft, rounded shapes stand in beautiful contrast to the gorilla's powerful body. In the pictures, the dark surface can be seen, highlighting the shoulders, arms, back and face in a way that makes the figurine both sculptural and lifelike. The expression is simple, but far from anonymous. This is a design figurine in which posture and proportions carry the entire story.

This monkey figurine is part of Royal Copenhagen's series of monkey sculptures created in collaboration with Pia Langelund. The series is known for interpreting the personality of different monkey species in a clean and modern design language, and the gorilla is among the most characterful models. It works strongly as a solitary sculpture, but can also be combined with other figurines from the series if one wants a complete composition with variation in size, posture and expression.

As a Royal Copenhagen figurine, it appeals both to collectors of Danish design, to those who are fond of animal figurines with artistic weight, and to interiors where a single statement piece may take up space. It fits beautifully on the shelf, on a sideboard or in a display cabinet, where the dark color and the calm shape can have space around it. It is also a gift idea for the design-interested person who appreciates figurines with personality and a clear artistic idea.
