Kutani lion pair in porcelain - Japanese lions in off-white and gold

This Kutani lion pair in porcelain adds a striking oriental touch to the interior. The two Japanese lions stand in a powerful pose with open mouths, highly raised tails and detailed manes, which give the figures a vivid and characterful expression. The off-white base is highlighted with gold details, which follow the many modelled lines and give the pair warmth and depth.

On the sides, a round decoration in blue and golden tones is seen, creating contrast to the light surfaces and emphasizing the decorative effect of the figures. In oriental figurative art, the lion is often associated with strength, courage and protection, and as a pair the figures also gain an expression of balance and watchful presence. This makes them ideal as decorative oriental figures in a bookcase, display cabinet or as part of a personal arrangement with Japanese-inspired porcelain.

The pair appeals to those who are fond of Kutani porcelain, Japanese figures and collectibles with distinct form and symbolism. They are sold exclusively as a pair and stand beautifully together, where they mirror each other and create calm and weight in the interior.
