Dahl Jensen Refugees figure - mother with children - Jens Peter Dahl Jensen

The Dahl Jensen figure Refugees is a powerful and moving porcelain figure that depicts a mother with two children in a close and protective moment. The motif is filled with humanity and presence: the mother sits with a small child in her arms, while the older child seeks in by her side. The interaction between the three figures gives the porcelain figure a special story of care, togetherness and safety in the midst of a vulnerable situation.

The figure is modelled by Jens Peter Dahl Jensen and bears the characteristic sensitivity that has made Dahl Jensen sought after among collectors of Danish figures. The blue dress, the light skin tones and the darker details in the base and footwear create a fine contrast, while the glazed surface highlights folds, facial expressions and the calm composition of the figure group. On the back, baggage shaped like a bundle can also be seen, which emphasizes the Refugees motif and gives the figure extra narrative depth.

As a porcelain figure, this Dahl Jensen figure fits beautifully into a collection of human figures, family figures and classic Danish figurative art. It can also stand alone in the interior, where it adds history, feeling and personality to the home. Older figures like this one have a special value precisely because they unite craftsmanship and narrative in an expression that still speaks to us today. Choosing a figure with history is at the same time a beautiful way to give quality design new life.

Refugees is also an obvious gift idea for collectors or for someone who appreciates porcelain figures with a human and thought-provoking motif. It looks good in a display cabinet, on a shelf or as part of a more personal arrangement with other Danish applied art and figurative art.
