Bjørn Wiinblad egg basket hand-decorated green/white

This hand-decorated egg basket from Bjørn Wiinblad combines decorative art and fantasy in the way that makes Wiinblad's design so recognizable. The basket is shaped like a stylized hen with a lid, where the green and white decorations wind across the surface in soft, ornamental forms. This gives the egg basket a lively and poetic expression, which functions both as practical storage and as a decorative figure in the kitchen.

Bjørn Wiinblad had a special ability to create everyday objects with personality, and that is clearly felt here. The small hen-shaped egg basket has a playful design language with a curved tail, defined head, and hand-painted decoration, which makes each example something special. The green shades against the light base give a classic and calm expression that fits beautifully into both retro, country, and more personal home décor.

As vintage decorative art, this Wiinblad egg basket also has an extra charm. It is a piece of Danish design history, created to be used and preserved, and precisely for that reason it is meaningful to let such quality objects have a new life in the home. An older hand-decorated egg basket adds soul and character to the table setting and is at the same time a sustainable choice for those who appreciate design with history.

The egg basket is ideal for storing eggs on the kitchen counter, but it can also be used as a small bonbonniere or simply stand on display as decorative ceramics. For collectors of Bjørn Wiinblad and for those who are fond of Danish decorative art, this is a model that both brings joy to everyday life and has collector's value. The fact that it is no longer produced makes it extra interesting for those seeking original, discontinued Wiinblad objects.
