Royal Copenhagen Faroese Girl overglaze figurine no. 12416

Royal Copenhagen Faroese Girl no. 12416 is a porcelain figurine with a calm and present expression. The figurine depicts a seated girl in national costume, rendered with a fine balance between simplicity and richness of detail. Her slightly turned head, the relaxed seated posture, and the flowers in her hand give the figurine a lively and human touch, which makes it both decorative and atmospheric.

Carl Martin-Hansen has created a figurine in which the costume is an essential part of the story. In the images, a dark headscarf with small light markings, a coral-colored shoulder shawl with floral decoration, a striped skirt, and a light apron can be seen. The colors and patterns emphasize the figurine's connection to folk costume and Nordic cultural history, while the overglaze-decorated surface gives the motif depth and warmth.

As a porcelain figurine from Royal Copenhagen, this model appeals both to collectors of Danish figurines and to those who appreciate classic decorative art with a history. The motif fits beautifully into a collection of figurines in national costumes, but can also stand alone on a shelf, in a display cabinet, or on a small table, where it adds personality and cultural-historical charm. Older porcelain figurines like this are at the same time a beautiful example of fine craftsmanship, created to be preserved and appreciated through generations.

Faroese Girl is also an obvious gift idea for collectors of Royal Copenhagen, for anyone interested in Nordic design and folk costumes, or for a home where classic porcelain figurines are allowed to create warmth and character. It is precisely the type of figurine that brings both history, craftsmanship, and storytelling into the interior.
