Kay Bojesen Songbird Ernst in painted beechwood

Kay Bojesen Songbird Ernst is a distinctive wooden figure with a calm and balanced expression that fits beautifully into Nordic interiors. The subdued grey shades, the light head and the black beak give the bird a simple, graphic look, which makes it easy to place on the shelf, in the window sill or on the desk. It is a design figure that adds personality to the home without taking up too much visual space.

The songbird was designed by Kay Bojesen in 1950 and launched in 2014. Ernst is named after Kay Bojesen's own father, and the name gives the figure an extra story that many collectors and design enthusiasts appreciate. The shape is classic Kay Bojesen: soft, round and precise at the same time, with the characteristic expression that makes his wooden figures recognizable across generations.

This Kay Bojesen bird is made of painted beechwood and combines Danish design history with a contemporary colour scale. This makes Ernst an obvious gift idea for design lovers, for anniversaries, birthdays or as a special hostess gift. At the same time, it is a fine choice for those who collect Kay Bojesen figures and wish to combine several songbirds in different colours and personalities.

Ernst functions both as a decorative figure and as a piece of Danish design that creates warmth and character in the interior. Place it alone for a calm, sculptural expression, or let it be included together with other wooden figures, decorative art and classic design objects for a more personal arrangement.
