This porcelain Christmas bauble from the Mega Mussel series features a beautiful motif in blue on an otherwise completely white Christmas ornament.

Musselmalet MEGA, designed by Karen Kjældgård-Larsen (born 1975), is a modern interpretation inspired by the traditional Musselmalet pattern. Karen grew up surrounded by Musselmalet porcelain and developed a deep fascination for its unique, hand-painted details, which are characteristic of this style and give each piece its distinctiveness.

At a young age of 26, she approached Royal Copenhagen, which led to the launch of Musselmalet MEGA. This design pays homage to the original Musselmalet, which was Royal Copenhagen's first pattern dating back to 1775. The novelty in Musselmalet MEGA lies in the enlargement of selected fragments from the traditional Musselmalet decoration. This enlargement highlights the intricate, twisted lines and proportions of the elegant chrysanthemum form, creating a cohesive and visually striking whole.
