Sparrow pair figurine no. 095/1309 from Royal Copenhagen

A small sparrow pair like this contains much of what makes classic Danish bird figurines so sought-after. The figurine shows two sparrows closely gathered in a calm and natural composition, where the simple expression and the soft shapes bring a quiet, warm life to the interior. The light porcelain figurine fits beautifully into both modern homes and more classic collections, where Royal Copenhagen and Bing & Grøndahl still hold a very special place.

This bird figurine is associated with A. Nielsen and belongs to the beloved animal figurines that many collectors look for under both figurine no. 095 and the newer no. 1309. This makes it ideal for you who are looking for a specific model, or who wish to supplement an existing collection of bird figurines in porcelain. The calm depiction of the two sparrows gives the figurine a close and homely character, which makes it easy to place on a shelf, in a display cabinet, or as part of an arrangement with other small animals and birds.

The underglaze decoration emphasizes the classic porcelain tradition, and it is precisely that type of execution that helps make the figurine interesting for collectors of Danish porcelain. At the same time, it is a decorative gift idea for bird lovers, design enthusiasts, or for the person who appreciates older quality objects with history and personality. A figurine like this is also a fine example of how used and vintage porcelain can gain new life in the home and bring both character and a story with it.

The sparrow pair works well on its own, but can also be combined with other bird figurines from Royal Copenhagen and Bing & Grøndahl to create an atmospheric collection with nature motifs. It is precisely the type of porcelain figurine that one returns to again and again, because the motif is timeless, and the expression is so calm and inviting.
