Royal Copenhagen duck figurine no. 1192 or 092 Olaf Mathiesen

Royal Copenhagen duck figurine no. 1192 or 092 is a classic porcelain figurine with the calm, natural expression that has made Danish animal figurines popular through generations. The figurine depicts a duck in a standing posture with a lightly bent neck and a softly modelled design language that gives the motif life without seeming overdone. The white glaze, the light beak and the nature-inspired base emphasise the simple and harmonious expression that fits beautifully into both classic and modern homes.

The figurine is from Royal Copenhagen and is designed by Olaf Mathiesen, who is known for his lifelike animal motifs. Here the duck is rendered with a fine balance between naturalism and stylish porcelain art. The smooth surface and the underglaze decoration give the figurine the calm depth and durability that characterise good porcelain. Model number 1192 is also associated with the later number 092, which makes this figurine relevant for both collectors and those seeking a specific model for an existing collection.

As a vintage porcelain figurine, this duck has a special charm. Older porcelain like this brings history, quality and personality into the décor and is at the same time a sustainable choice, because beautiful craftsmanship gets new life in a new home. The figurine works well on its own on a shelf, in a display cabinet or as part of an arrangement with other bird figurines from Royal Copenhagen. It is also an obvious gift for collectors, nature lovers or for anyone who appreciates Danish design with a calm and timeless expression.

This duck figurine is a good example of why Royal Copenhagen figurines are still appreciated: the motif is easy to love, the execution is assured, and the expression has a warmth that makes the figurine easy to live with for many years to come.
