Royal Copenhagen polar bear cub figurine no. 729 or 072 Knud Kyhn

Royal Copenhagen figurine no. 729 or 072 depicts a polar bear cub in a lively and relaxed pose, where it lies on its back and plays with its paw. The figurine has a soft, natural design language, and the fine transitions in the porcelain highlight both the animal's weight, movement, and the calm charm for which Knud Kyhn is known in his animal figurines.

The white porcelain and the glossy underglaze give the figurine a clean and calm expression, which fits beautifully into both classic and modern homes. The modelled details around the fur, paws, and head give the figurine character, without the expression becoming heavy. It is precisely that balance between naturalism and simplicity that makes this Royal Copenhagen figurine an obvious choice for collectors of Danish porcelain and for those who love animal figurines with personality.

As a vintage porcelain figurine, it also carries the special value found in older quality design created to last. A figurine like this adds soul and history to the home and is at the same time a sustainable choice when beautiful craftsmanship is allowed to live on in new surroundings. It works well alone on a shelf, in a display cabinet, or as part of a combined arrangement with other bear figurines and animal figurines from Royal Copenhagen.
