Royal Copenhagen polar bear cub figurine no. 21433 by Knud Kyhn

Royal Copenhagen polar bear cub figurine no. 21433 is a characterful stoneware figurine with the lively and lifelike expression for which Knud Kyhn is so well known. The figurine depicts a bear cub in motion with a raised forepaw, forward-leaning body and an alert gaze that gives the motif both energy and personality. The light, nuanced glaze emphasizes the soft shapes and highlights the texture of the fur in a calm and effective way.

Knud Kyhn had a special touch with animal figurines, and this is clearly felt here. The polar bear cub is modeled with a fine balance between strength and playful movement, so the figurine appears alive from every angle. It fits beautifully into a collection of Royal Copenhagen figurines, but also stands strong on its own as a decorative design object on the shelf, in the display cabinet or on a chest of drawers, where the organic shapes are allowed to come into their own.

For collectors of Danish stoneware and classic animal figurines, model 21433 is an obvious choice. It is a figurine with history, quality and lasting appeal, created in a formal language that still feels present in modern interiors. Older design objects like this one in particular add soul and personality to the home, and they are at the same time a beautiful example of how good craftsmanship can be preserved and given new life through generations.

The light polar bear cub can also be an obvious gift idea for anyone who is fond of Danish design, Royal Copenhagen or animal figurines with collector's value. Its compact size and strong expression make it easy to place, both alone and together with other figurines in the same style.
