Royal Copenhagen bear cub stoneware figurine no. 21432 or 232

Royal Copenhagen bear cub in stoneware is a small animal figurine with lots of personality. Knud Kyhn is known for his vivid animal depictions, and here he has captured a playful bear cub lying on its back with its paws raised and its body softly rounded. The figurine has the characteristic organic design language that makes Kyhn's bears so sought after among collectors of Danish design and older Royal Copenhagen figurines.

The dark glaze with warm brownish nuances highlights the figurine's shapes in a fine and natural way. The expression is calm, humorous and charming all at once, and that very balance is part of what makes Knud Kyhn's stoneware figurines so popular. The bear cub fits beautifully into a collection of animal figurines, but also stands strongly on its own on a shelf, in a display cabinet or as a small decorative detail in the home interior.

Older figurines like this contain both craftsmanship, history and a special warmth that is difficult to find in new production. A vintage stoneware figurine from Royal Copenhagen adds soul and character to the home, and at the same time it is a sustainable choice for you who appreciate good design created to last for many years. It is also an obvious gift idea for the collector, for the design enthusiast or for anyone who loves classic Danish animal figurines.

This bear cub is a fine example of why Knud Kyhn's animal world still arouses enthusiasm. The compact shape, the playful posture and the dark stoneware glaze give the figurine a warm and present expression, which makes it easy to love and easy to find room for in a modern home.
