Royal Copenhagen polar bear cub no. 22745 stoneware Knud Kyhn

Royal Copenhagen polar bear cub no. 22745 is a charming stoneware figurine with the lively and organic design language that Knud Kyhn is known and appreciated for. The figurine shows a bear cub lying on its back with its paws drawn up, as if caught in the middle of a playful moment. The light, white appearance gives the motif a calm and soft expression, while the modeling highlights the round body, the small ears and the fine folds around the legs and belly.

Knud Kyhn had a special ability to give animal figurines personality, and that is clearly felt here. The polar bear cub seems both secure, curious and full of movement, even though the figurine stands still. It is precisely that combination that makes this Royal Copenhagen figurine an obvious choice for collectors of Danish design, stoneware and classic animal figurines. It works beautifully on its own in a bookcase, in a display cabinet or as part of a larger collection of figurines of bears and other animals.

A figurine like this adds warmth, history and character to the home. It fits nicely into both classic and modern interiors, where it can create a personal eye-catcher on a shelf, a side table or in a quiet arrangement with ceramics and handicrafts. For many, older figurines from Royal Copenhagen are also a meaningful way to choose quality with lasting value. These are decorative arts and collectors' items with soul, created to be preserved and bring joy for many years to come.
