Royal Copenhagen polar bear cub figurine no. 22746 or 246 Knud Kyhn

Royal Copenhagen polar bear cub figurine no. 22746/246 is a charming porcelain figurine with lots of life in its form. Knud Kyhn has captured the cub's compact body, the powerful paws and the open mouth in an expression that gives the figurine both personality and movement. The white glaze emphasizes the motif's Arctic character and lets the light play beautifully across the surface.

The figurine is modeled as a seated polar bear cub with a slightly turned head, small defined ears and fine details around the snout, mouth and fur. Knud Kyhn in particular is known for his animal figurines, where the animal's nature and body language are allowed to stand out clearly, and here you sense the calm heaviness and curious energy in one and the same motif. This makes the figurine an obvious choice for collectors of Royal Copenhagen figurines, for those who are fond of classic Danish design, or as a gift for someone who appreciates porcelain with character.

A figurine like this fits beautifully in a bookcase, in a display cabinet or as a small eye-catcher on a shelf, where it can stand alone or be combined with other animal figurines in porcelain. Older porcelain figurines have a special ability to add warmth, history and personality to the home, and at the same time they are a beautiful example of how good craftsmanship can find new life in modern interior design.
