Royal Copenhagen bear figurine 1124, reclining brown bear - Knud Kyhn

Royal Copenhagen figurine no. 1124 is a charming bear figurine with lots of personality. It depicts a brown bear lying on its back with its paws raised, as if it is playing or tumbling around. It is precisely this lively and natural posture that gives the figurine a warm and narrative expression, making it more than just decoration. It is a porcelain figurine that both catches the eye and adds a calm, Nordic atmosphere to the home.

The figurine is designed by Knud Kyhn, who is known for his animal motifs and his ability to give porcelain and ceramics character, weight, and movement. Here, it is the soft shaping and the glazed underglaze in brown shades that create the figurine's distinctive expression. The surface appears lively, and the bear's rounded forms emphasize the motif's calm, almost playful nature. This makes the figurine ideal for those who appreciate classic Danish design and Royal Copenhagen figurines with animals as the motif.

A bear figurine like this fits beautifully on a shelf, in a display cabinet, or as part of a larger collection of animal figurines from Royal Copenhagen. It also works well as a gift idea for collectors, design enthusiasts, or for someone who appreciates porcelain figurines with history and soul. Older figurines like this have a special ability to give the décor personality, and at the same time they are a beautiful example of quality craftsmanship created to be appreciated for many years.
