Royal Copenhagen bear with cub figurine 20193 by Knud Kyhn

Royal Copenhagen bear with cub figurine 20193 is an atmospheric stoneware figurine, in which Knud Kyhn captures a calm and intimate moment between the large bear and its cub. The motif has a weight and warmth that make the figurine remarkable in the interior, and the organic form emphasizes Kyhn's special ability to give animal figurines life, character and presence. For collectors of Royal Copenhagen figurines and Danish stoneware, it is a model with both personality and classic appeal.

The figurine is made of stoneware and appears with a lively, nuanced glaze in muted green and brown tones, which suit the bear's powerful forms and highlight the play of the surface. The adult bear sits protectively around the cub, and the interplay between the two creates a motif that appears calm, warm and natural. It is precisely this narrative quality that makes the figurine suitable as a decorative feature on a shelf, in a display cabinet collection or as a striking detail on a sideboard.

Knud Kyhn is known for his animal figurines, and this bear with cub clearly shows why his works are still sought after. The combination of strong design, tactile surface and a motif of closeness and protection gives the figurine a special place among both collectibles and classic Danish design. At the same time, it is a fine choice for those seeking a gift with history, quality and a more personal expression than mass-produced home decor.

Older stoneware figurines like this carry a natural sense of history and craftsmanship with them. They are created to last a long time and can still bring joy in a modern home, where reused design objects add soul, character and sustainable value.
