Bing & Grøndahl bear figurine no. 7188 in stoneware by Trine Dreyer

Bing & Grøndahl bear figurine no. 7188 is a stoneware figurine with a calm, lively and very present expression. The bear sits curled up and licks its paw, which gives the motif a natural and almost intimate character. It is a bear figurine that contains both weight and warmth, and that immediately adds personality to the interior.

Trine Dreyer has created a figurine in which the design language is compact and sensual. The low, seated posture emphasizes the bear's body fullness, while the head, snout, ears and paws are modeled with clear attention to the animal's anatomy and movement. In the pictures, a dark, glazed surface is seen with nuances in brownish, golden and grayish tones, which give the figurine depth and a beautiful play in the light. At the same time, the glaze highlights the uneven, organic details in the surface and gives the stoneware figurine a distinctive expression.

As a Bing & Grøndahl figurine, it appeals both to collectors of Danish stoneware and to those who are fond of animal figurines with character. It works well on its own on a shelf, in a display cabinet or as part of an arrangement with other ceramics and decorative art. The bear motif fits naturally into a home where one wants decorative objects with materiality, history and a more personal touch than mass-produced interior items.

Older stoneware figurines often have a special ability to create calm and authenticity in modern surroundings. Here you get a piece of Danish design that still feels relevant and useful today. Precisely the kind of ceramics that is made to last and be appreciated for many years is also a sustainable choice for those who wish to decorate with quality and give beautiful craftsmanship new life.
