Royal Copenhagen crawling child with sock figure no. 1739 or 112

Royal Copenhagen figure no. 1739 or 112 depicts a crawling child with a small sock in its hand. The motif is warm, recognizable and full of everyday life - a moment captured in the middle of the child's curious movement across the floor. The low posture, the forward gaze and the small sock give the figure a vivid and natural expression, which many will associate with toddler life, play and the first discoveries.

The figure is designed by Adda Bonfils and made in porcelain with underglaze. The soft shapes and the calm glaze emphasize Royal Copenhagen's sure grasp of the naturalistic porcelain figure, where both anatomy and atmosphere are modeled with great sensitivity. The small blue-white sock creates a fine contrast to the figure's light surface and adds a discreet play of color to the motif.

As a child figure, it has a special charm, because it does not seem staged or solemn, but on the contrary depicts a completely ordinary and loving moment from childhood. For that very reason, it fits beautifully into both classic and modern homes, where it can stand alone on a shelf, on a chest of drawers or as part of a collection of porcelain figures from Royal Copenhagen. It is also ideal as a gift for someone who is fond of Danish porcelain, child motifs and figures with a story.

Older porcelain figures like this have a special value, because they carry craftsmanship, history and personality onward into new homes. Choosing a figure with a story is also a way to cherish good design and give lasting craftsmanship new life in the interior.
