Royal Copenhagen annual figurine 2023 Lamb by Allan Therkelsen

Royal Copenhagen annual figurine 2023 Lamb is an atmospheric porcelain figurine that captures the calm of winter and the living moment when a little lamb balances on a snow-covered stone. The figurine has a fine, natural expression with light shades in the body and darker details at the face and legs, while the glazed surface gives the motif depth and life. It is a figurine that immediately draws attention, both among collectors of Royal Copenhagen and among those of you who love animals, Nordic design and Christmas traditions with lasting value.

This annual figurine is designed by Allan Therkelsen and executed in underglaze. The motif is taken from the same year's Royal Copenhagen Christmas plate 2023, which makes the figurine extra interesting for collectors who would like to combine annual figurine and Christmas plate from the same year. It is precisely that connection that gives the figurine a special story, because it not only stands beautifully on its own, but also ties directly to the year's well-known Christmas motif.

The lamb's posture gives the figurine movement and presence. It stands slightly raised and alert on the snow-covered stone, as if it has just paused for a moment in the winter landscape. The compact size and the calm play of colours make it suitable on a shelf, in a bookcase, on a desk or as part of a display with other figurines and plates from Royal Copenhagen. For collectors of annual figurines, it is an obvious choice as part of a series, but it also works very well as a standalone porcelain figurine with a wintry and poetic expression.

As a modern collector's item, this Royal Copenhagen figurine unites Danish design tradition, craftsmanship quality and the story of the year's motif. That makes it an obvious gift idea for collectors, for a special December gift or for yourself, if you wish to add yet another thoroughly crafted figurine to your collection.
