Royal Copenhagen Melchior candlestick no. 334 Three Kings

Royal Copenhagen Melchior candlestick no. 334 is an atmospheric Christmas figure and a characterful porcelain candlestick with a Three Kings motif. The figure depicts Melchior, the king with incense, rendered as a standing king with crown, cape and gift in hand. The white porcelain form is kept in a calm and classic expression, while the golden details highlight both the crown, the gift and the base in a way that gives the candlestick warmth and solemnity.

The design was created by Finn Næss-Schmidt for Royal Copenhagen, and the motif is linked to the story of the three wise men. As a Christmas candlestick, it combines figure and function in one piece of porcelain, where the light is placed at the top of the crown. This very solution makes Melchior more than a traditional figure; he becomes part of the Christmas table, the windowsill or the classic arrangement with Christmas decorations and living candles.

Melchior stands beautifully alone, but also comes particularly well into its own together with the other Three Kings candlesticks, Kaspar and Balthasar, if one desires a unified expression. Together, the three kings create a narrative and tradition-rich Christmas decoration, which has both collector's value and great decorative strength. The white porcelain color with gold edge makes it easy to combine with other classic Christmas porcelain and Nordic Christmas decorations.

For collectors of Royal Copenhagen figures and Christmas figures, this candlestick is a fine example of Danish porcelain design, where motif, craftsmanship and usability go hand in hand. At the same time, it is an obvious gift idea for anyone who loves Christmas traditions, Three Kings motifs and porcelain with history. Older designs like this have a special ability to bring personality into the home and give beautiful craftsmanship new life year after year.
