Royal Copenhagen polar bear with cubs figurine 087 Motherly Love

Royal Copenhagen polar bear with cubs figurine 087 from the Motherly Love series is a porcelain figurine with a strong and calm story. The motif shows a mother polar bear sitting with her two cubs close to her, and the entire figurine group radiates care, security and closeness. The Arctic motif gives the figurine a special character, making it ideal for both collectors of Royal Copenhagen and for those who are fond of animal figurines in classic Danish porcelain.

Allan Therkelsen has designed the figurine with an eye for both anatomy and atmosphere. The mother bear's slightly forward-bent head and the cubs' placement close against her create a natural composition, where the relationship between the animals is at the center. In the modeling, the pronounced fur texture can be seen over the entire body, and the white underglaze is brought to life by the gray details on the snout, paw pads and claws. This provides contrast and highlights the figurine's calm, powerful expression.

The Motherly Love series is known for motifs that depict the bond between mother and young, and this particular polar bear with cubs stands out with its Nordic nature motif and its close, protective figurine group. As a porcelain figurine, it works beautifully in a display cabinet, on a shelf or as part of a collection of bear figurines and other animal figurines from Royal Copenhagen. It is also an obvious gift idea for a collector or for someone who appreciates porcelain with motif and personality.

Older porcelain figurines like this bring both history and soul into the interior. It is quality design created to last, and at the same time it is a sustainable choice to give good craftsmanship new life. A figurine like this adds something warm and lasting to the home, which newly produced objects can rarely replace.
