Royal Copenhagen Steam Locomotive figurine no. 139 Toys Sven Vestergaard

Royal Copenhagen Steam Locomotive figurine no. 139 is a charming porcelain figurine from the Toys series, designed by Sven Vestergaard. The motif draws inspiration from classic toys and old steam locomotives, and the figurine has a playful expression with distinct wheels, chimney, front shield, and small decorative details that give it plenty of personality despite the compact format.

The colors are kept in blue, white, gray, and warm reddish shades with small golden details, which emphasize the figurine's decorative character. The form is simple and stylized, yet still easy to read as a train with a nostalgic reference to the toy world of childhood. It is precisely this blend of design, storytelling, and craftsmanship that makes the figurine ideal both for collectors of Royal Copenhagen figurines and for those who appreciate small porcelain figurines with history and atmosphere.

The figurine is made of porcelain and underglaze, and it is part of the Toys collection, where Sven Vestergaard worked with familiar toy motifs in a calm and decorative design language. This makes the steam locomotive interesting as a standalone figurine, but also as part of a complete series. If you already have other figurines from the Toys series, this model is a natural addition, and if it stands alone, it still adds a lovely touch of Danish design and nostalgic toy history to the shelf, display cabinet, or desk.

A steam locomotive like this is also an obvious gift idea for collectors, train enthusiasts, or for someone who appreciates Royal Copenhagen's smaller figurine series. It is the type of porcelain figurine that appeals both to the joy of collecting and to the desire to decorate with small objects that have soul, quality, and a motif you feel like taking a closer look at.
