Royal Copenhagen The Swineherd figurine no. 227 H.C. Andersen

Royal Copenhagen figurine no. 227 depicts The Swineherd from H.C. Andersen's fairy tale universe in a lively and narrative composition. The figurine shows a boy and a girl closely gathered in a kiss, while a small pig sits in front of them on the green base. The motif is full of fairy-tale atmosphere and humor and makes the figurine a charming collector's item for both Royal Copenhagen collectors and those who are fond of classic H.C. Andersen figurines.

The colors are kept in the soft, harmonious palette that suits the porcelain figurine so well. The girl wears a white dress with blue decoration, red details and light hair, while the boy is modeled with blue trousers and cap, a light upper garment and a red scarf. The small pig in front of the couple emphasizes the story and makes the motif easily recognizable as The Swineherd. Together they create a figurine with both movement, warmth and a distinctly fairy-tale expression.

This Royal Copenhagen figurine belongs, according to the existing product text, to the series of H. C. Andersen Figurines, which consists of six motifs: The Little Mermaid, Clumsy Hans, The Swineherd, The Flying Trunk, Thumbelina and Ole Lukøje. This makes figurine no. 227 interesting as a single figurine, but also obvious for collectors who wish to collect several figurines from the same series.

Older porcelain figurines like this have a special ability to add personality and history to the home. They are created to be preserved, displayed and bring joy for many years, and that is precisely why they are also a beautiful choice for you who appreciate fine craftsmanship and sustainable use of quality objects with soul. The figurine fits nicely in a display cabinet, on a shelf with fairy-tale figurines or as a gift for a collector of Danish porcelain and fairy-tale art.
