Royal Copenhagen Clumsy Hans figurine no. 226 H.C. Andersen

Royal Copenhagen figurine no. 226 depicts Clumsy Hans from H.C. Andersen's fairy-tale world and is a porcelain figurine with lots of storytelling gathered in one motif. The figurine shows the cheeky fairy-tale boy sitting on a white goat while holding a bird high in the air. It is a scene that immediately evokes recognition among collectors of H.C. Andersen figurines and among everyone who loves classic Danish porcelain with literary inspiration.

The expression is lively and full of charm. Clumsy Hans is modelled with a blue hat, light blue trousers and a brown vest, and the white goat stands securely on a green base that gives the figurine a fine contrast and calm overall appearance. The bird in his hand and the relaxed posture underline the story's quirky humor and the self-assured main character, who goes his own way. It is precisely this narrative quality that makes the figurine ideal both as a collector's figurine and a decorative fairy-tale figurine in the home.

As part of the H.C. Andersen Figurines series, this Royal Copenhagen figurine belongs among the motifs that many collectors seek out individually to complete the series. Underglaze gives the surface the characteristic depth and soft sheen that suits porcelain figurines so well. At the same time, it is a piece of Danish design and storytelling tradition, where craftsmanship and cultural history meet in a motif that still speaks to the present day.

An older figurine like this brings both history and personality into the interior. It fits beautifully in a display cabinet, on a shelf with other Royal Copenhagen figurines or as a special gift for someone who collects fairy-tale figurines, Danish porcelain or H.C. Andersen motifs. Choosing a figurine with history is also a way to give fine craftsmanship new life and let classic collector's items continue to create joy for many years to come.
