Bing & Grøndahl sparrow with young figure no. 1869 Dahl-Jensen

Bing & Grøndahl figure no. 1869 with sparrow and young captures a quiet and touching moment from the world of birds. The adult sparrow stands close to the young one, which lifts its head and opens its beak toward it, and the whole motif is modelled with a fine sense of both movement and presence. It is a porcelain figure that conveys warmth, care, and the special calm that nature motifs often bring into the interior.

Jens Peter Dahl-Jensen is known for his naturalistic animal figures, and this is clearly seen here. The birds' postures appear lively and observed, while the soft shapes and the discreet details in the plumage give the figure character. In the pictures, muted nuances in brown, grey, and light tones can be seen, marked wings on the adult bird and a light base, which brings the composition together in a calm way. Underglaze gives the surface a beautiful sheen and emphasizes the figure's classic expression.

As a B&G bird figure, this model is ideal for collectors of Bing & Grøndahl, but it also suits those who are fond of porcelain figures with a nature motif and Danish design history. The figure looks beautiful on its own on a shelf, in a display cabinet, or together with other bird figures and animal figures in porcelain. At the same time, it is an older quality object with history, which can still create joy in a modern home and be a sustainable choice for the one who values good craftsmanship over new production.

The motif with sparrow and young also makes the figure an obvious gift idea for a bird lover, a collector, or someone who appreciates classic Scandinavian porcelain. Here you get a decorative Bing & Grøndahl figure, where motif, artistic sense of form, and finely executed porcelain come together in a higher unity.
