Bing & Grøndahl pigeon figurine no. 1911 Niels Nielsen

Bing & Grøndahl pigeon figurine no. 1911 is a classic bird figurine in porcelain with a calm and lifelike expression. The standing pigeon is modelled with an upright posture, soft transitions and a fine balance between simplicity and details, which makes the figurine easy to place in both classic and modern homes. The light grey shades, the dark wing bands and the long tail give the motif life and depth, while the glossy glaze highlights the figurine's calm character.

The pigeon was created by Niels Nielsen, and it is precisely the interplay between the natural posture and the subdued decoration that makes this Bing & Grøndahl figurine interesting for collectors of Danish porcelain and bird figurines. In the pictures, the faintly defined feathers over the back and wings, the light beak, the light feet and the dark bands on the wings can be seen, which give the figurine a fine and recognisable pigeon character. The underglaze decoration supports the soft colour transitions and gives the surface a harmonious overall impression.

As a porcelain figurine, this pigeon can stand beautifully on a shelf, on a chest of drawers or in a display cabinet, where it can both stand alone and be included together with other bird figurines from Bing & Grøndahl or related Danish porcelain. The motif has a quiet and pleasant radiance that fits well into an interior with a focus on form, history and personal finds.

Older porcelain figurines like this continue to have value because they are created with a quality and durability that make them worth preserving. When choosing a figurine with history, you get not only a decorative object, but also a piece of Danish design tradition that can live on and create joy in new surroundings. This makes the figurine ideal as a gift for a collector or for you who are fond of bird figurines, Bing & Grøndahl and porcelain with soul.
