Bing & Grøndahl dachshund figurine no. 2041 standing dog figurine

This standing dachshund from Bing & Grøndahl is a porcelain figurine with a calm and trustworthy expression, which captures the breed's distinctive character in a fine way. The long back, the short legs, the soft drooping ears and the slender tail make the motif immediately recognizable as a dachshund, and the figurine has a natural posture that gives it life without seeming strained. The light brown glaze brings the shape together beautifully and highlights the soft transitions in the modeling.

From several angles, the figurine is experienced as both upright and friendly. The head is slightly raised, the gaze is gentle, and the body is modeled with attention to the dog's characteristic proportions. This makes this dog figurine an obvious choice for both collectors of Bing & Grøndahl porcelain and for dog lovers seeking a dachshund figurine with a classic Danish expression.

Bing & Grøndahl is known for porcelain figurines in which everyday motifs and animal motifs are executed with a sure sense of form, and no. 2041 is a good example of precisely that. The glossy underglaze gives the surface depth and a lively light, while the motif retains its calm overall impression. The figurine works well on its own on a shelf, in a display cabinet or on a desk, but it can also be combined with other animal figurines in porcelain to create a personal collection with history and character.

Older porcelain figurines like this have a special appeal because they carry both craftsmanship and durability with them. Choosing a figurine with history is also a way to give beautiful Danish porcelain new life in the home. As a gift for a dachshund owner, as a collector's item or as a discreet detail in the décor, this standing dachshund is a motif one wants to take a closer look at again and again.
