Dachshund figurine no. 3140 or 140 Royal Copenhagen Theodor Madsen

This dachshund from Royal Copenhagen is a porcelain figurine with a calm and natural expression, which makes it easy to love. The figurine is modelled with the characteristic long body, the short legs and the soft, hanging ears that characterize the breed, and the sitting position gives it a quiet presence on the shelf, in the display cabinet or as part of a larger collection of dog figurines and Danish porcelain.

The colours move in beautiful shades of brown, grey and light beige tones, which highlight the figurine's shape and give the surface depth. The face is finely executed with a gentle gaze, and the glossy glaze emphasizes the soft transitions in the coat and the curves of the body. It is precisely this combination of lifelike modelling and subdued play of colours that makes a Royal Copenhagen dog figurine like this so decorative in the interior.

The figurine is made after a design by Theodor Madsen, who is known for his animal figurines with life and personality. Here the dachshund gets a credible and down-to-earth expression without appearing stiff or overdone. This makes the model interesting both for collectors of Royal Copenhagen figurines and for dog lovers who want a porcelain figurine with character. It also works well as a gift idea for a dachshund owner or for the one who is fond of classic Danish design.

Porcelain figurines like this are often chosen for their ability to create warmth and personality in the home. It fits nicely alone on a shelf or a desk, but can also be combined with other animal figurines in porcelain if you want a more cohesive story in your interior. A dachshund figurine from Royal Copenhagen also has a timeless quality, which makes it relevant year after year.
