Columbine figurine no. 488 or 2355 Bing & Grøndahl

Columbine from Bing & Grøndahl is a porcelain figurine with clear inspiration from Tivoli and the classical world of theatre. The figurine depicts the graceful dancer in a light and balanced pose, where the raised arm, the fine hand movements, and the pointed foot position create a vivid sense of movement and stage presence. It is a figurine that exudes ballet, pantomime, and romantic storytelling.

The white dress is executed with small decorative details and soft shapes, which give the figurine a light and elegant expression. The hair is gathered with a hair ornament, and the overall impression has that special blend of poetry and precision that makes classic porcelain figurines so sought after. The Columbine motif is closely associated with theatre, Tivoli, and the tradition-rich world of figurines that many collectors cherish.

The figurine is made by Bing & Grøndahl and is associated with the artist Ebbe Sadolin. It is therefore interesting both for collectors of Bing & Grøndahl figurines, Tivoli figurines, and porcelain figurines with human motifs. When choosing a figurine like this, you get not only a decorative object, but also a piece of Danish design and cultural history that can continue to bring joy in a modern home.

Columbine fits beautifully in a display cabinet, on a shelf, or as part of a collection with Harlequin, Pierrot, and other fairy-tale and theatre figurines. It is also an obvious gift idea for collectors, for the ballet enthusiast, or for someone who loves porcelain with character and history. Older quality figurines like this are created to be preserved, appreciated, and passed on, and that is precisely why they are also a sustainable choice with both soul and durability.
